The Administrative Services Division, under the command of Major Brad White, is tasked with providing a broad array of essential support functions that contribute to the daily operations of every division within the Sheriff's Office.
Administrative Services responsibilities include the following:
· Handling all primary financial services for the Sheriff’s Office. In addition to the routing, receipting, and disbursement of funds related to Sheriff's Office operations, also handles all purchasing and is involved in the budgeting process.
· Approves and monitors bonding companies writing bonds at the Lamar County Detention Center. There are currently five (5) professional bonding companies authorized to conduct business with Lamar County who are required meet certain criteria and submit monthly reports to maintain authorization.
· Issuance of raffle permits. By Georgia law, anyone conducting a raffle must first obtain a license issued by the Sheriff of the county.
· The task of fingerprinting individuals for civil purposes. These purposes may include Adoptions, Firearm Permits and Employment.
· Responsible for processing all paperwork involving Sheriff’s Office employees to include processing new-hire paperwork, leave, medical issues, disciplinary actions, workers compensation, benefits, reassignments and transfers, separation from service, etc.
· Responsible for collection, storage, maintenance and dissemination of all incident and accident reports generated by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office and handles all requests for information under the Georgia Open Records Act and other legal statutes which provide for access to publicly maintained information.
· Developing and updating Sheriff's Office policy and procedures. Policies and procedures are currently available to all employees in an electronic format on the Sheriff's Office intranet.
· Processes all Request for Expungement of Criminal Records and serves as the Terminal Agency Coordinator for the Sheriff’s Office ensuring that all GCIC Council Rules and Operations Policies are followed so that the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office remains in good standing with the Georgia Crime Information Center.
