METH AWARENESS WEEK
                                                                           11/29/10 - 12/3/10

In support of the Georgia Meth Project, Lamar County Sheriff's Office in cooperation with Lamar County Schools and Barnesville Police Department has designated November 29, 2010 - December 3, 2010 as Meth Awareness Week. Students from the High School and Middle School viewed public service announcements from the Georgia Meth Project each day.

On Wednesday December 1, 2010 High School students participated in our Blackout Against Meth by wearing black to school that day.  Representatives from the Lamar County Sheriff's Office and the GA Meth Project joined students during lunch to provide information on the dangers of meth.  Each student received a  "Not Even Once" bracelet as a reminder to refuse to allow methamphetmine use in their lives.  Students were excited to sign up to volunteer for the GA Meth Project.
